Shaping wood

As a rule of thumb, we tend to use reclaimed wood sourced from abandoned or soon-to-be-demolished farmhouses. At Semplicemente Legno we restore the beauty of the original material and infuse new life into its soul.

by enhancing the signs of time

An expert artisan is trained to fix the imperfections of reclaimed wood to create floors and furniture that are applicable to any form of architecture, even the most innovative and futuristic.

Our ability to give new life to antique wood harmonizes with the vision of architects and interior designers who view reclaimed wood as a material that can enhance the spaces they are planning, regardless of how modern and elegant they are.

New wine in old bottles

The first step in this process consists in identifying spots where reclaimed wood can be sourced from. There, we carefully select the beams to reclaim, one by one, and we assess the condition of the abandoned farmhouse, which may sometimes be found unusable;
We then move on to clean the timbers. We apply our expert handcraft skills to remove any debris and bugs that would damage the quality of the beams. During this phase of the process the timbers are manually scraped and the tiny corn cob chips that come off the beams are used in the corn cob blasting process. The wood is then ready for a new life;
Finally, the reclaimed timber has a perfect new shape and can retain its precious soul even during his second life. It is a highly versatile material that can add unique value to any type of living space and as such it can be turned into floors, panels, and stairs and even into a whole set of home furniture.
